Budweiser launches its first non-alcoholic beer
CNN Business informed that Budweiser launched its first alcohol-free beer and with only 50 calories. Anheuser-Busch InBev, the owner of the famous and recognized brand, has released Budweiser Zero, a non-alcoholic beer with a flavor similar to its best-selling alcoholic beverage, for the American market. Plus, it only has 50 calories and contains 0 grams of sugar.
According to the article, “the popularity of so-called healthier alcoholic alternatives is growing” and Bud Zero is the brand’s opportunity to capitalize on this trend.
Monica Rustgi, Budweiser’s VP of Marketing told CNN that “beer is something that people love, so it doesn’t have to be binary decision of drinking beer with alcohol or not drinking a beer at all.”
Bud Zero had a helping hand from NBA’s former player Dwyane Wade, who helped to create the product’s flavor and packaging. He told CNN Business that “he hopes the drink not only attracts athletes and people who are focused on their health, but also beer fans who are looking to be responsible in social settings.”
“You don’t always want to walk away being hungover or with a buzz” and “I loved the idea of being part of the conversation without having to drink alcohol.”, Wade said.
