Alcohol is not good for diets, if you want to know more we have the article on the benefits of stopping drinking alcohol.
Tips for following a healthy and detox diet
We propose a detox plan based on the WHO recommendations for healthy eating. We intend to follow them after having achieved the goal, so that these guidelines become our eating habits throughout the year. Let’s see if we succeed.
- Beware of liquefied juices: By liquefying or squeezing fruit and veggies we make them lose most of their fibre. The sugars naturally present in fruit become free sugars, which provoke a metabolic response that harms us: we put on weight and make the liver work harder. Eat fruit, don’t blend it.
- Fresh food and fibre are welcome, eat lots of vegetables and fruit. Eliminate sugar, alcohol and ultra-processed foods.
- Cook your food and dress your salads with virgin olive oil: although it is high in calories, according to data from Predimed olive oil, because of its antioxidant properties, is essential for weight loss and cardiovascular health.
- Exercise: join a gym or take up sports like running.
- Drink plenty of water and herbal teas without sugar or honey.
- Reduce salt consumption. Instead of salt use herbs and spices, preferably fresh, which have much more flavour: rosemary, thyme, turmeric, pepper, curry.
It sounds boring, but it doesn’t have to be. That’s why we’re here to make it easier for you. We have our favourite products for after the summer and Christmas holidays, which is when we do our own Dry January.
Alcohol-free drinks for your diet
Following a detox plan does not have to be tedious. We recommend these non-alcoholic drinks that do not pose any danger to your detox diet:
- Light beers such as non-alcoholic blonde beers or craft beers with a more citrusy touch such as non-alcoholic IPA beers.
- Sparkling wines such as Noughty (organic and low in calories and sugars) which, in our opinion, have nothing to envy to traditional champagnes.
- A selection of premium non-alcoholic wines that are low in calories, such as Oddbird or Kolonne Null.
Enjoy without moderation!… and in a healthy way.
