The same classic recipe, but an alcohol-free gin
According to Tanqueray, its alcohol-free gin is made with the same combination of botanicals used in the “traditional” Tanqueray: angelica, coriander, nebrina and liquorice. So it seems the only difference between the two is that the new version does not contain a drop of alcohol.
Founded in Bloomsbury, London, in 1830, Tanqueray continues to keep alive the spirit of exploration and innovation of its founder, Charles Tanqueray. As Terry Fraser, Tanqueray’s master distiller, said in a statement “Our expert innovation team has combined years of experience and historic distilling expertise to create an incredible experience, a non-alcoholic gin. Botanicals are individually steeped in water, heated and distilled before being expertly blended to capture the essence of Tanqueray in a delicious non-alcoholic alternative. This special distillation process is a closely guarded secret, known to only a handful of people, and we are very proud to offer gin drinkers that juniper and citrus flavour they expect from Tanqueray when they choose not to drink alcohol”.
Gin fun facts

Its creator was the scientist Franciscus Sylvius, who prepared the first gin distillate to treat medical problems such as lumbago, gallstones and gout. It soon spread to the UK, and then to the rest of the world.
Gin and tonic was created in the British colonies. The tonic water of the time was a drink containing quinine, a substance very effective in preventing malaria, but had a very unpleasant taste. The first colonists added a splash of gin to make it taste better, and so, for medicinal purposes, perhaps the most famous drink in the world was created.
