With good weather, the best season begins to enjoy aperitifs outdoors: on the terrace, facing the sea, or in the shade of a vine. And if this ritual has an undisputed star, it’s vermouth. This drink with a Mediterranean soul has conquered the entire world. The best part? Today you can enjoy it without alcohol, with all its flavor, and without side effects. Alcohol-free aperitifs are refreshing and delicious. Here are some options to buy alcohol-free vermouths.

Such as the refreshing non-alcoholic Spritz Lyre’s Italian Spritz, similar to an alcohol-free aperol, and the famous non-alcoholic spritz Crodino.

There are other alcohol-free vermouths, for when the heat is on. If you want to try a truly Italian vermouth, don’t miss the Amárico brand. All you need to do now is stick your umbrella in and enjoy the delights of an alcohol-free summer with all the flavour and all the fun.

How is non-alcoholic vermouth made?

Normally, non-alcoholic vermouth is made the same way as traditional vermouth. Vermouth is a flavored wine, to make it alcohol-free, you need a non-alcoholic base. Brands use different techniques; some non-alcoholic wine directly, others dealcoholize it afterward.

Also, alcohol-free vermouths, like traditional vermouths, range in color from dark red to off-white. Their flavors vary from sweet to dry, almost spicy and bitter, depending on the wines you blend and the herbs and spices you add. This drink is perfect for relaxing and leisurely moments, before a meal, to prepare your stomach.

Alcohol-free Martini: aperitifs since 1863

In 1863, Alessandro Martini, Luigi Rossi (oenologist) and Teofilo Sola (accountant) decided to transform a small winery in San Salvatore di Monferrato and give it a new lease of life with the drink of the moment, vermouth. This is how Martini, Rossi & Sola was born in 1863, according to Toni Castillo in Bon Viveur. Martini continues to this day and has two non-alcoholic aperitifs:

Martini Floreale

Alcohol-free white vermouth with the recognizable aromatic flavor of Martini Bianco. The non-alcoholic vermouth Martini Floreale is a drink with botanical notes and a predominance of Roman camomile. With this alcohol-free vermouth, you can create perfect aperitifs either on its own or mixed with tonic and adding lemon, cucumber or mint.  For an elegant and sophisticated drink, add Tanqueray 0.0 or another premium non-alcoholic dry gin to create the classic Dry Martini cocktail without the alcohol.

Martini Vibrante

An alcohol-free red vermouth with the recognizable aromatic flavor of Martini and is a drink with botanical notes and a predominance of Italian bergamot. Martini Vibrante is great to make a delicious non-alcoholic Negroni, if you mix it with a siphon and add a slice of lemon, you’ll have the quintessential Mediterranean aperitif. Accompany it with some cockles and you have the best moment of the summer within your reach.
